Trout Unlimited offering free memberships for essential workers

TU President and CEO Chris Wood has offered free Trout Unlimited memberships to every essential employee in America as a “thank you” for putting themselves in harm’s way during the coronavirus outbreak.

In addition to offering free one-year memberships to essential workers, TU is also giving memberships to emergency personnel, first responders and those in the health care community that might benefit from becoming a member of the TU community.

On April 9, Wood took to social media (blob:https://www.facebook.com/fa2d2261-5c62-41c7-922f-2b03f9035284) to outline the offer and made available his personal email address for any essential workers interested in joining TU.

“We all owe you a debt of gratitude,” Wood said on a video posted to Facebook. “I would very much look forward to welcoming these people into our community of chapters and people who live to give back to the lands and waters that sustain our great nation.”

Wood’s email address is chris.wood@tu.org, and the membership  includes a quarterly magazine, discounts on fishing gear and travel, and membership in a local chapter working to fix their streams and protect clean water.

Founded in Michigan in 1959, Trout Unlimited today is a national non-profit organization with 300,000 members and supporters dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring North America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.
